According to the incessant ramblings of the mainstream media (MSM) and even several members of the GOP, "Conservatism died in 2008". They are saying this because they are afraid of true conservatism!

I would like to correct this distortortion and mention that quite to the contrary, the main stream media appears to have died in 2008 [1] [2] [3] [4] . The MSM has abandoned any pretense of doing objective journalism. The GOP itself has become immersed in the wayward ways of D.C. and lost touch with its own base. We are not sure McCain ever was in touch with his base (not sure he should even be called Republican - since he has spendt so much time on the other side of the aisle!

If Sarah Palin (a true conservative) had run at the top of the GOP ticket (of course much earlier) and allowed to be herself, the GOP may have won the 2008 election easily. Intstead the GOP ran Caligula's Horse (thanks to Anne Coulter for that moniker). To hear John McCain call himself a "conservative" during his campaign made my stomach turn. For that matter George Bush governed as a Fiscal liberal if not a downright Socialist with these bailouts toward the end of his presidency. Bush will be remembered for his tenacious position on Iraq and standing up to Islamo-fascism and his tax cuts.

Conservatism is a set of principles, beliefs and ideals that can't die. The GOP is now housing a "Faux Conservatism" and it needs to reform or step aside and allow a truly conservative party to take prominence in the USA - OR GET ITS ACT TOGETHER! The major networks, newspapers, employ mostly liberals. Don't expect to get farily presented facts from the MSM.
